Letter from the Board of Directors
We are honored to announce the launch of the Canada-Florida Chamber of Commerce, the natural progression of its predecessor, the Quebec-Florida Chamber of Commerce founded in 2009. Since then, we have seen a significant increase in business between the French-speaking region and the Sunshine State. Building on the momentum, we are expanding our resources to support all of Canada, which conducts $8 billion in trade with Florida each year. With offices in Montréal and Plantation in Florida, the Chamber represents a truly bilateral organization dedicated to cross-border economic success of its members. Our activities will begin in Toronto late 2018
“When you combine two-way trade, investment and tourism, Canada is by far Florida’s most important international economic partner,” says Susan Harper, Consul General of Canada in Miami, who also serves as a Chamber board member. “The Chamber will be invaluable in acting both as a catalyst for Canada-Florida business, and as a focal point for Canadian economic interests more generally. I cannot overstate the important role of the private sector as a partner, both for the Consulate General of Canada, but also for other members of the business community who share the common objective of growing the Canada-Florida economic relationship.”
Our board members are driving agents of North American commerce. With backgrounds in fields ranging from immigration law, accounting and tax to real estate, human resources and global marketing, our team can assist the most ambitious expansion projects from both sides of the border. On their behalf, we want to express our gratitude to the businesses that have put their faith in us for the last nine years while welcoming more organizations into the fold.
Whether you’re in Ottawa or Tallahassee, Fort Lauderdale or Québec City, the CFCC is ready to help your business grow and prosper. Please join us in this important endeavor to support bilateral trade.
