Sophie Lalonde is an expert in the financial services sector, with an illustrious career spanning over 25 years. As a Certified Financial Planner, portfolio manager, and entrepreneur, her educational foundation is robust, holding a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Concordia University with a major in Finance and a minor in accounting. Specializing in cross-border financial planning and investments, Sophie’s deep-seated knowledge and experience, alongside her team, set a high industry standard.

Her qualifications are extensive, including three significant financial planning certifications—CFP, IQPF, and CRPC—giving her a nuanced understanding of the diverse legal and financial landscapes of Canada and the United States. This expertise ensures that her guidance steers clients clear of common financial pitfalls.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Sophie’s commitment to community involvement is profound. As one of the founding members of The SITN Foundation, she is celebrated for her exceptional fundraising capabilities, supporting numerous children’s charities and furthering their interests. Additionally, her role as the President of the Canada-Florida Chamber of Commerce highlights her dedication to enhancing trade and investment between entrepreneurs and businesses in both regions, advocating for policies that bolster cross-border trade.

Louis Guay

Louis Guay is the President of the Board of Directors of the Chamber’s Florida Chapter. He first joined the board in July 2019.

Louis Guay is a Tax Principal at Kaufman Rossin where he oversees the firm’s R&D Tax Credit Incentives and Real Estate Cost Segregation service lines. Kaufman Rossin is one of the largest professional service firms in Florida and is headquartered in Coconut Groves near Miami. Louis is based out of the firm’s Boca Raton office. Louis has authored several articles about R&D Tax and Cost Segregation in news and trade publications, including Construction Executive, Small Biz Daily, the South Florida Business Journal and the Miami Herald. Before joining Kaufman Rossin in 2014, Louis was a senior manager in the national R&D Tax practice of a Big 4 firm in Canada.

He also currently serves on the board of directors of the Miami Center for Architecture and Design (“MCAD”).

Louis grew up in Quebec City, Canada. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Industrial Engineering from the Ecole Polytechnique of Montreal and a Master of Business Administration from Florida International University. He is bilingual in English and French. He lives in Delray Beach, Florida with his wife Majorie and their three daughters Charlie, Laurie, and Lyla.
